Marvelous Monday

What makes Monday 'marvelous' is the fact that it is almost done, and Friday is getting closer by the second. Is it sad that I start counting down to Friday on Monday? From the moment my alarm goes off, actually... The weekends never seem to last quite long enough for my liking.

After being spoiled with the nice summer-like weather the last few days, today seemed like a unnecessary reality check. I know it's only March, but seriously? Don't tease us with nice, warm, sunny weather and expect us to be happy to wake up shivering and scraping frost off of our windshields. I, for one, was not impressed. Oh well. I have my mind made up that winter has officially left the state of Michigan, and that this is just a temporary setback. Keyword: Temporary.

I took advantage of a couple of free minutes while dinner was cooking and ran outside with Junie to get some pics while the sun was shining and my forsythia bushes are in full bloom. I think this is the first time I actually managed to get a pic of them while they are still yellow... I have great intentions of doing this every year, but somehow manage to fail miserably.

Had just one of these little guys in my flower bed - hope he doesn't succumb to the frost!!

Last, but not least, my sweet little helper:

My baby isn't so much of a baby anymore. :( She is, however, the sweetest little two-year-old girl in the whole wide world.

Big things are underfoot this week! Stay tuned for an 'ugly cupboard' update!! My kitchen has a closet-sized opening next to the pantry complete with the ugliest built-in cupboard/shelving unit you can imagine. I have piled all kinds of crap on it to hide it's ugliness (I wish that were as effective as I lead myself to believe). The time has come to take action and uncover some sort of potential in that hideous section of my kitchen. Hopefully when I'm done with it, it'll look far better than what it does now. A fresh coat of paint can fix anything, right? Almost anything?
